BUDLE BAY
Budle Bay, just N of Bamburgh is a large horseshoe shaped area which can only be sailed two hours either side of high water – as the tide ebbs a large area of sand bars is exposed. The great advantage is that it never gets any deeper than chest deep. Finding the launch point is a bit difficult – it’s at the end of a dirt track that looks like private property. Best in SW when the water is virtually flat. A very safe area to sail. Rig in the field, easy water access.
