DAYMER BAY

A top location, Daymer Bay is perfect for most short board abilities, although a little difficult to find. Conditions can vary from flat blasting water right through to waves. Tidal currents are strong in this part of the Camel Estuary and you should take special care when it’s ebbing. Even incoming tides have caught sailors out under Bray Hill. For getting to the other side and wave riding and jumping the best wind directions are SW and NW, Doom Bar, which almost sucks dry at low tide, is the best wave generator. Newcomers to wave sailing should stay just off the main beach, any swell will generate a small, well spaced wave from around three quarter to high tide. If the conditions at the coast are too diffuclt this is an excellent alternative.
