AVAILABLE ON

FERRYSIDE

This sandy W facing beach only provides one hour of sailing either side of high tide because it is situated on the entry to a tidal estuary. Ideal conditions are NNE winds blowing down the estuary or SSE blowing up the estuary, both providing perfect cross-shore sailing. Inside the bay is sheltered from SE winds so in these conditions it would be better to cross the estuary and sail from Llansteffan. The water at Ferryside is mainly flat and perfect for beginners in light winds and during slack tides. The only real dangers are that the tidal stream can be strong and you could end up returning to Pendine Sands.
