HARTY FERRY

A rarely used area in the Swale, which separates Sheppey from the mainland. There’s a launch point at the end of the track from Faversham, but the easier access is from the Isle of Sheppey itself, from an area known as the Isle of Harty. The downside is that there’s very little slack tide, which usually means a continuous fight against eight knots of current. The sailing area is quite small too.
