PORT TALBOT
A man-made beach reclaimed from sand dunes, the main Port Talbot / Aberavon beach is W of the harbour. It is two mile long with plenty of parking along the promenade and for light wind or wet days there’s also the Afan Lido, one of the largest leisure complexes in Wales. The beach faces SW and is best in SE and NW winds when it’s cross-shore. A fairly safe beach, that doesn’t get congested during summer weekends. To avoid a walk, launch either from mid beach or to the S.
