WHITSAND BAY
On the face of it Whitsand looks attractive but windsurfers rarely use it. The reasons are that it’s a difficult beach to reach, especially from Plymouth and getting from the car parks to the beach involves a long walk. Launching too is tricky. Best sailed in W winds, which gives a cross onshore close to low tide. SW is directly onshore.
