JULY EDITION OF WINDSURF ON SALE.

Short days, freezing temperatures and gnarly conditions. In this hark back to winter this year, on a weekend that most of us would prefer to be at home and throwing chair legs on the fire, the Coast team brave it all at Easkey.

Freestyle has not had the massive following in this country that some places in the World have enjoyed. Nevertheless there are still plenty willing to try new things with the certain knowledge that they going to get more than their hair wet. To help them on their way, we test six of the hottest freestyle boards around. To go along with the freestyle board of your choice we sail and evaluate eight of the most reactive sails around from Gaastra, Goya, Neilpryde, North, RRD, Severne, Simmer and Vandal.

Former Olympian, pro circuit racer, World Champion and British? There’s a lot more to Tushingham’s Dave Hackford than meets the eye.

On the PWA circuit we take a look at the Ulsan World Cup and why John Carter found the smell of fermented vegetables (Kimchi) first thing in the morning hard to stomach. Ridiculous winds blew the smells away and provided action packed racing.
No one really regards Costa Brava as a high wind venue. Just for a laugh, this time the Tramontana REALLY kicked in and flattened almost the whole PWA fleet.

Peter Hart is up and firing on most of his cylinders and continues with getting wide things to go around corners.

Getting some serious improver training in doesn’t always mean a trip overseas. And with a pint costing over a fiver in some parts of Europe (don’t mention the cost of fuel) it might just be better to stay home and learn. Paul Hunt ignored this advice and headed off to New Zealand for his winter training while Steve Thorpe ended up in Iceland.

That and all the regular columns in the latest edition of Windsurf Magazine.
