Læsø itself is lovely. Sand everywhere though and navigationally problematic if you don’t check the map. I checked the map afterwards which was the wrong way round.I then met up with Swedish yachting friends Ingar and Elizabeth at Vesterø Havn on the west of the island. A strong headwind, Earl Gray tea, Danish pastries, and the offer of a berth on board contrived to make stopping for the day the most attractive option. It’s our third meeting: two times in Norway – when I also met Sven – and now here. And I stopped at Sven and Ingar’s home port of Grundsund (Sweden) where Dag, Maud and – it seems – the rest of the town, made me very welcome. Nice when connections repeat.Today the wind direction looked unfavourable but it turned out grand. I made it safely across to the Danish mainland, just a short hop away from Limfjorden – where I will cut through to the North Sea coast.”
