On the way back towards Alum Bay the views of the Needles are equally awesome from this different perspective with the massive Cliffs of Tennyson Downs leading up towards the chalk towers. With Ross a tiny spec at the bottom as he sailed towards the base of the sheer cliffs, the scale of this natural wonder was absolutely mind blowing. At last Fatima was starting to perk up as the boat picked up speed in the calmer protected waters as we hugged the coast heading back towards Yarmouth.
As we cruised towards Yarmouth I was glowing with a rewarding sense of achievement to score a stunning day at the Needles. I wish I could say the same for poor Fatima. For every story that makes the pages of this magazines there are usually at least two or three where the elements don’t co-operate and the luck works against you. This time round our plan had come together and Ross had the pleasure of sailing in front of this captivating background while I had the challenge of photographing from the RIB. Obviously with this magnificent location in the bag the quest is on to find somewhere equally beautiful but with so much amazing coastline on offer around the UK I’m sure there are a few nooks and crannies still out there waiting to be discovered.
