DAY 2
An hour into the journey the next morning we started to hit the first line of the Andes outside the town of San Juan and the landscape started to come alive. All of a sudden we were meandering up through huge arid mountains, past vast lookouts and driving across enormous open plains between the ranges. By early afternoon and another four hours driving, we arrived in a quaint town called Rodeo – our home for the next two days – where we were greeted by our host Patrik and taken to our lodgings, aptly named Clandestine! After a quick stop to sort out equipment and shovel down some tasty ham and melon, it was time to check out the lake and find out what all the fuss was about. Was this really one of the windiest places on the planet? We would soon find out!
