Just a few days after the amazing Red Bull Storm chase in Tasmania one of the biggest swells of the year hit Mauritius. We’d been waiting patiently for famed Mauritian reef break One Eye to turn on since the beginning of August, but up to this point had only scored a few logo-high days.
Finally our patience was rewarded with a forecast promising huge potential. A massive 20-second period, 4-metre swell along with wind was due to hit. I was taking no chances and block-booked some helicopter sessions hoping that, in the worst case scenario, we could at least score one decent hour of shooting.
