SOCIAL WORK
Our nights were spent drinking Rosé and eating decedent food from Tagine clay pots, which the servers opened with surprised looks on their faces although it should be us who were surprised to see what would be under the pyramid lid each night. We sat for hours every night chatting, laughing, drinking and eating together. I particularly bonded with new friends from France who had come to film the event in Moulay. Pierre, The Prince, Greg, Ben, and Martin had me laughing all week. They work perfectly together like a well-oiled machine and were able to capture the event in the most beautiful magical way in their videos. The nearby town of Essaouira shines and bustles with colour, cobblestone narrow streets, fresh foods, spices, rugs and crafts. There are women churning almonds into butter, butchers waving off flies from their products, dancers entertaining, children selling hats, women selling henna tattoos and elderly sitting under brightly coloured arched doorways. The beach in Essaouira is filled with camels, horses, musicians, umbrellas, and children laughing and playing in the shore break. I wonder to myself how many of these kids will have the opportunity to surf and windsurf.
