PASSION
You have to understand that for me RRD is not just a business. It is my passion and love. Those are the things which most people look for when they go on holiday, so for me going to work is like going to a holiday! Obviously we have the days where we have problems, like people leaving their job, problems with warranties or a fire in the warehouse! If we don’t have a real serious problem, then every day I go to the company feels like just another day on the beach or something like that! We talk about development, marketing new directions in the company and I just love my job. Every moment I do it, I feel blessed to be able to keep working on RRD. So I guess it is true, I never switch off my attention from RRD because that is what I love to do. That is the way I am with everything I do.

THE CAPTAIN
Naturally I want to be on top of the whole company and understand and analyse what is going on below me. I like to give the guidelines and be shoulder to shoulder with the right people and make sure they have a mutual, global understanding of what is happening with the brand.  So very often I put myself close to my employees and let them make the decisions on what could be good for the brand’s direction rather than taking the decision myself. Of course in the end it is always me making the final call. I want to make sure the guys below me have the chance of taking the decisions on my behalf, right or wrong. I want to let them have a degree of responsibility. I don’t think I am a tough guy to work for. I am pretty open, I am not stubborn, I just focus on the direction I want to take but if it does not go my way I don’t blame it on the guy that took the decision. There can be other parameters that have made the call wrong. The most important thing is to not point the finger at the guy who made the wrong choice. It is to the solve problem, there is always a solution. There is no automatic solving machine, at least I have not found one yet. One of the laws of marketing is that if something can go wrong it will!  You have to remember that law very well and try to prevent that.
