“Having followed Jason down the cliff, I almost made the mistake of following him into the water in the mad rush that he is always in. I scampered down after him, all the while thinking that it was a bit soon to have the timing perfect to get out there, and that niggling in the back of my mind is what saved me! I decided pretty quickly that it was a bad idea and slipped my way back up the slick rocks to safety. When I looked back, I saw Jason taking a massive set on the head, trying to duck dive an 80L board with all his gear strapped to it. Heidy turned white looking at him get sucked over the falls and onto the rocks and I was doubled-up laughing. He always seems to land on his feet, so I wasn’t really that worried about him, I was just thinking to myself ‘well done for not following him blindly’! He looked like a drowned rat dragging his gear out of the water and started laughing hysterically too. Time for round two!”
