Jaws has also become relatively crowded these days with more windsurfers, kitesurfers, and regardless of how much wind there is, a host of paddle in surfers in the line-up. This has made finding a good wave much more difficult than it used to be. Especially when the winds are light, the kite surfers can just do laps around you and often snake the waves from behind that you have been patiently struggling and waiting for on a windsurfer. Other times you make it in, but see Shane Dorian, Kai Lenny, Ian Walsh or one of the other top surfers desperately paddling for your wave… and then I pretty much always pull back and let them have it out of courtesy… I don’t deal that well with crowds, and often end up with less than perfect wave selection as a result. Still, I have had some good fun and for sure got into a couple of decent waves and some nice critical sections. But I am certainly hungry for more!!”
