    Hi
Just bought a bit of kit to get started again after a long lay off.
When I rig the sail, the battens seem to long for the sail. It’s like they don’t fit!
    Has anyone got any tips?!
    Photos attached
    Many thanks
    Simon

Apologies, can’t upload photos at all.

Essentially it bunches up around the mast. I’ve tried down and out hauling as much as possible.

    Any tips appreciated.

    Thanks

You can download an app like photo compressor if you have the photo on your mobile, it reduces the quality and size. Or use paint if on pc.
Maybe mast is not suitable, what mast do you have?

    Thank you.

The mast is the required length and tension according to the sail instructions. They also came as a (used) package.

Do I just need to outhaul and downhaul even more?

    Many thanks

The sail needs more downhaul. Too many horizontal creases.

What brand of mast are you using? Gaastra used to be stiff top, they only recently changed to constant curve.

Use way more downhaul. What specs, what mast size, how much extension?
