Getting to know your new team
Getting to know you new team is really important to ensure you are effective in your new role as a graduate. Depending on which organisation you have joined or are looking to join, the size of you new team can vary enormously. In an operations role you could join a new team working with fifty people whereas in a smaller project management team, you may only be working with a handful of colleagues. However, it is likely that you will be working with a wider group of people who may be your stakeholders, virtual team or direct customers. Make sure you get to know your new team as soon as you can to improve your working relationships and be more effective in delivering for the company.

Getting to know your new team early on helps make you more effective at work as you build a support network. Experts from studydaddy would recommend that you speak to your new boss and ask for some help in mapping out who your new team colleagues are, your virtual team colleagues, your stakeholders and customers. Once you have established that core list of people in your new team, then need to get to know each of them.
This can be quite informal and either a quick chat over a coffee in the cafe or a quick phone call to say who you are, what you are going to be working on and ask them a few questions about their experiences and what they are currently working on. You will soon find both some work and personal common ground, which will make it easier to start building those relationships with your new team.
