Say congratulations to the reigning windsurfing world speed record holders – for now – Zara Davis and Antoine Albeau who both achieved new 500m averages of 44.19knots and 49.41 knots respectively at the 2012 Luderitz Speed Challenge artificial channel in Namibia.
Swedish legend Anders Bringdal, who lead the 1st day, broke the production board record twice on day two – and improved his national record to 48.38 knots. The UK’s Farrell O’Shea bumped the British record up to 46.15 knots!
The windsurfing section of the event runs to December 2nd so there’s still plenty of time to break new records and reach the elusive 50-knot mark!
All speeds are still subject to ratification by the WSSRC.
