Looking down at the break, you could see by the way the waves were detonating on the sandbar that this was not a wave to be toyed with. With logo to mast high sets mostly uncoiling in one powerful thud, any mistake was going to end in pain but at the same time any big hit could end in glory! Timo and Corky were both out to clock up as many hours on the water as possible with Iballa due to join us later in the afternoon as she had a physio session organized for a recent knee injury. Iballa had also wisely noted the status of the tide for the day, which can play a key role in the power of this wave and had opted to hold back until later. As for myself and Timo, we were on a schedule so there was no way we were going to wait around for the tide to come in, despite the hefty close outs.
