11.30am: JC: Van heater on as we both try and shake off the frostbite. We are both in a state of mixed emotion after this traumatic adventure. On one hand we had managed to score an hour or so of pretty dramatic wave sailing but, with hindsight of the tide rushing in, we had already missed the best of it before we even arrived. With the wonders of this amazing reef break now hidden beneath the turbulent waters of the North Sea, there were still plenty of hours in the day to check out some more spots on this bountiful stretch of coast.
1.30pm: JC: Two more hours driving in the wrong direction from home and we were back on it again, scoring a perfect logo-high cross-offshore beachbreak, again without seeing another windsurfer for the whole session. For that adventure you will have to wait for the next instalment of Coast so be sure to fill in that print or online subscription or get down to your newsagents and demand your copy!
