WORKLOAD
This year my workload has been very heavy. As a brand with RRD we normally use a 2/3 year cycle with a lot of our products, particularly with the boards. It means that we don’t release a complete new range every year. The customers and shops like it, because the equipment holds its value better, and it gives us time to work on real solid improvements for the next cycle. What happened this year was that we had a big corporate logo change which meant that some products looked a bit outdated. So we decided this year to do a full refresh of absolutely everything. That meant for me I had 250 products that all needed to be new! A few of them were fairly simple, like changing logos and colours on harness lines, but in general I took the opportunity to completely overhaul the entire range. Not just changing graphics but re-evaluating all the product ranges, improving the technology, changing factories, just doing everything to really clean up and improve the ranges as much as possible, particularly with the rig components. It was a great opportunity to push everything forward but just meant for me it was a crazy winter. I had a tonne of work plus we also had our second child to deal with at home!
