I thought I was last as there was a lot of kites around (and we all know they are slow ha ha – just kidding – well, just a little). As I got to the final stretch I spotted Kirra next to me and thought “Yes, a girl I need to overtake her so I’m not dead last”! And man, I gave it my all! She went a bit wide and I got onto a wave, got planing and pumped as hard as I could and managed to overtake her on the last leg. I was super surprised and very stoked when announcer Rob Goyen told me I actually came in as second woman after Karin Jaggi! (Just for the record I was miles after Karin who held on to a 8.6 and was twelve minutes ahead of me! What a legend she is!)”
