As for the waves, due to some issues with the judging boat’s anchorage, the Elite division didn’t start sailing until almost 5.30pm. That was a long day at the beach but it’s also the time that the wind generally swings a little more cross-off and gets a whole lot better for wave sailing, and at moments it was all-time. I mainly focused on my own sailing but from all reports everyone was getting some absolutely sick waves and some big hits were going down on the outside bowl. We literally finished the final as the sun was setting and there was so much adrenaline and excitement running even as everyone relived their heats in the car park afterwards. The LOC is one of the best windsurfing events you can be a part of. For me it’s purely about going camping for the weekend and doing everything I love whether it be windsurfing, surfing, fishing or even just having a beer at the campsite with friends. Nobody takes it too seriously and there are always plenty of laughs.”
