JC: A few days before the event, Francisco Goya told me sailors are like seeds in the ground, you have to let them grow and mature. Brawzinho has been kind of like this, slowly improving every year, getting stronger until at last his time has come to flower.
MB: For sure, I had a couple of weird years, where I was training the hardest I’d ever had and I was getting the worst results of my career. It wasn’t bad because, at the end of the day, I was still wavesailing and still having fun, but I felt a little bit frustrated. I didn’t know where to go next. I wasn’t expecting to be number one or anything, but at least make top-10 at events. It just wasn’t happening for me. Now it’s turned around it feels unreal. I couldn’t be any happier.
