NEILPRYDE MARCH 2025-TOP

NIK BAKER | BACK ON THE ROCK

After things had calmed down we rigged up and headed out there. I was riding my little 8’ 2” Ho’okipa Board obviously completely unprepared. To this day they were some of the most incredible, gnarly, scariest moments of my life. I only caught a handful of waves it was so intense. I sailed for an hour and a half and just took a few giant waves. It was 4.7m overpowered going out and very windy. On the wave it felt like 3.5m weather! After I was done I sat on the boat and watched Bjoern and Scott sail. There were only about six guys on the water that day. I remember seeing Bjoern drop into some monster sets. It was easily four times mast high but probably bigger. I have never seen anything like it.
