ROCK HOPPING
Arriving at Jaws we were met by an armada of camera crew wondering why we were on the cliff and not out in the water. Heads started to shake when we told them what we were planning to do and a portion of them followed us down the long cliff face to see what would happen. Instead of rigging the sail on the land we both used a tie down strap to secure the equipment onto our boards, which we would later rig in the water.
With all that equipment the board becomes very heavy and slow to paddle. You’re positioned on top of your boom, mast and sail and it’s hard to get it centered under your body weight sometimes. The other issue we had was trying to get over the slippery boulders and down far enough to the waterline to even have any chance to make it out.
