Bora-Bora
From Tahaa we could already see the steep Bora-Bora main Island that was about 25 miles from us. It was another really light wind day for sailing and we mainly used the engine again. Entering the pass in Bora-Bora, we were surprised to see nice waves breaking on the reef as all the locals from other islands told us that there was no surf there. The left wave of the pass was a short wave but very nice and hollow on the drop, the right was a very long wave but smaller because it was breaking way inside the pass. I was also expecting to windsurf this wave but once the wind came it was way too offshore so I went freestyling and kiting on the windy days inside the beautiful blue lagoon! We spent over a week in Bora-Bora, and we scored pretty good conditions for SUP surfing, freestyle and kiting but I guess we were lucky to get some big southwest swells that helped push some waves on the normally flat west facing pass.
