By the late afternoon crowds on the cliff had totally filled the point and for the last hour of light left we put on a show for the Chilean spectators. I heard later that a lot of the pro surfers took the time to come and watch us sail all afternoon. As darkness approached we made our way back to the beach grinning from ear to ear. It was a successful trip and worth every bone-crunching ache of sitting on a plane for 30 hours.
I can now see why Robby has made his home here is Matanzas. The surfing and windsurfing are as good as it gets and the people are super friendly. The food in particular is amazing and if you’re ever in Matanzas please check out the Surazo hotel and restaurant. Their lodgings and food are to die for. I know that I will be back again next year waiting patiently by the phone for another phone call from Robby to ride the perfect storm. y! JP
