We continued our journey towards the east of Tasmania, where we expected a solid forecast for the following days. On the way I experienced that a car ride itself can be a real adventure, especially when you are driving at the wrong time of the day. For some kind of reason all sorts of animals try to cross the street at dusk or dawn. They jump out of nowhere and it seems that “road crossing” is their favorite game to get some adrenaline going. The east coast of Tasmania is more developed and exposed to tourism. Especially Chinese people seem to like this place to get some wildlife shots in front of their cameras. On a spot called friendly beach, close to a national park, we set up another camp and had a couple of intense jumping sessions with my repaired 4.5 fully powered up. There were rumors about a big white shark hunting in these territories, so I made sure to land my jumps ankle dry!
The last few days of our trip we spent at Stefan’s house in the middle of nowhere close to the famous big wave spot called Shipstern’s bluff. Around this corner of the island there are multiple world-class surfing spots in case you need a break from all the windsurfing. After three weeks down under it was time for me to say: “see you soon”. Tasmania might not be just around the corner but with impressive statistics of more than 240 windy days a year you can be sure to spend some quality time on the water. And I guess that’s what it’s all about? Aren’t we all in search of a life filled with sweet memories and extraordinary moments? I think it’s good to switch off the phone from time to time and create your own stories and adventures!
