VICTOR FERNANDEZ PERSPECTIVE
A HO’OKIPA SPLASH
// When Victor Fernandez was 14 his father allowed him to spend a summer in Pozo because he made decent grades at school. Twelve years later he became world champion; now he decides where he sails for himself. He owns a house in Chile, has his own centre in Almerimar, trains in Gran Canaria and Cape Town but his main focus this year will be windsurfing in Maui, Hawaii. John Carter captures him in action this spring during a late session at Hookipa putting the new Fanatic Stubby through its paces. Whatever the break, whatever the conditions, Victor always looks dialled in; expect to see him on the podium again this year!
