Josh Angulo and Kai Katchadourian have been at the fore of wave sailing in Cabo Verde for over 20 years. Despite increasing responsibilities of family and business, they still make the effort to be on the island when conditions align for the legendary Ponta Preta. Scoring the elusive point break has become a fine tuned art for them, read on as the pair discuss their relationship with the break and more.
JOSH ANGULO
As life moves on, reflection, appreciation, admiration and peace with different situations are all aspects that I find surprisingly exhilarating. From back in the day of just wanting to be “the best guy out” and “show everybody up” to now being content to just draw a clean line and appreciate the guy next to me also getting his piece. It seems each winter as Cabo Verde delivers its goods, I get to experience a new chapter in my windsurf life. I’m probably preaching to the choir here as our core group of mainstay windsurfers are probably mostly in their maturing years, so I’m sure I’m not the only one out there that has come to appreciate the little things as we progress through our walk of life.
