As the afternoon progressed the wind seemed to shift slightly towards west south west, meaning less pristine waves and side-shore wind.
The golden slot of beautiful groomed waves had passed and if you’d rocked-up after that magical slot, the day would have looked pretty average. But for those few hours we had scored it and at least we could make the drive home with our spirits running high.
