HOME OR AWAY?
A massive red blob of swell looming mid-Atlantic had set off alarm bells for wave-hungry sailors all over Europe and Ross Williams and I had whittled down our possible locations to Cape Verde or Cornwall – what a dilemma! In financial terms it came down to £3000 vs. £300, but that extra digit was going to add on an extra twenty degrees onto the temperature and perhaps the possibility of scoring epic Punta Preta. But with Christmas looming and my piggy bank only clanging with the sound of pennies inside, we eventually decided to stay in the UK, despite pleas from Kai and KP to come and join them for a festive big wave session.
