EARLY KICK OFF
When Timo calls an early start he is normally not messing about and hearing the alarm go off at 5.30 am was not the most pleasant way to start the day. Peering out of the window of our accommodation I could see there were stars up above, meaning clear skies and the trees were already rustling in the wind, another positive indicator. By 7.30 am we were on location, as the pink glow of dawn revealed logo high clean lines marching into the bay, feathered by a fresh offshore breeze – game on! With Pentire Head to the right and Trevose Head over to the left, this slow shelving beach is tucked between these two headlands and best sailed at low tide. You can either park right on the sand in front of the village or up in the public car parks overlooking the bay and walk down with your kit over the rocks. Be careful not to let your parking ticket fly off your dashboard as we did or you will be faced with a hefty £15 lost ticket fee!
