PARK LIFE
As mentioned a ‘problem’ of life as a windsurfer in Lake Garda is where to park your car! Sometimes it is hard to find a free spot during the summer time, as it’s really busy with windsurfers and tourists. The only tip I can give to you is to always pay for the parking ticket, as it is almost certain you will get a fine otherwise!
CONDITIONS
Lake Garda lake is a great place to windsurf for all levels but the conditions can be choppy when it’s windy and freshwater sailing if you are used to the sea can take a little adjustment in technique to compensate both for the chop and slightly reduced flotation in your board because of the freshwater. During the morning the Peler wind is usually blowing strong and you can find some good ramps in the chop for fun jumping. During the afternoon, the wind is normally lighter, around 20 knots but there can still be some chop from other windsurfers, sailing boats and tourist ferries.
