CHANGE OF OFFICE
I have been working with Fanatic since 1999 and helping out with the development of the boards since 2005. As the years progressed I have been working more and more on the boards and have been involved in testing together with Victor Fernandez. We travel a lot to Portugal to test with Sebastian Wenzel and in the last couple of years the work has been pretty much in our hands. At the beginning of last year Fanatic involved me greater in the marketing side as well. My normal working day is never very normal as my job is not 9 to 5. The Fanatic HQ is situated close to Munich; depending on the time of the year and what projects we’re working on I’m in the Fanatic office for about a week per month. The rest of the time I’m working from Hamburg or on the road while testing gear or attending product shoots and competitions. My job involves being in charge of the website, photo shoots, picture selection, video production, product texts, 3D visuals, R&D of the wave range and many other things which just come up in my daily work. We’re a small team, where a lot of projects are shared, like the graphics of the boards for example. Dani Aeberli and Craig Gertenbach are in control of the slalom and freeride development with Sebastian, while I coordinate the wave R&D and order most of the custom wave boards for the Team. Dani is on a similar schedule with frequent trips to our suppliers and manufacturing facilities, test trips and working from home, so we try to coordinate our office time for the team to meet in person at least a couple of days every month. The rest of the time we have frequent group Skype calls to keep the whole team up to date and coordinate the work efficiently.
