All strapped-up in our tiny little plane, we were just about to roll out onto the airstrip when we had a message from the tower to beware due to a microlite fly-in day on the Hayling Island airstrip. It turns out over 300 of these aircraft were having a gathering right where we were planning to fly which, obviously, was going to play havoc with where we could circle around the event site. We set off apprehensively with for the twenty minute crossing over the Solent. On arrival we stayed up quite high in order for my pilot, Aden, to scrutinize the air space below.
