From her birthplace of Northern Scotland to becoming the first British woman to sail one of the world’s most dangerous waves – Pe’ahi / Jaws, Vickey Abbott has forged a unique path. Describing herself as “An ordinary, very stubborn girl with an overactive imagination”, her friends nicknamed her ‘Kamikaze Cockroach’ thanks to a close call on the American Windsurfing Tour involving big waves and caves in Punta San Carlos, Baja.
