JC: Who was your biggest influence when you were learning?
AM: I have always said this but it is all the guys from the tour. All the pro sailors out there in fact. Everyone has something special. I try to take a little bit of the best from all the windsurfers I admire. That is why maybe I do crazy stuff. One of my main influences was Kauli Seadi for everything he does; he is consistent in every condition. I also like Jason Polakow for big wave riding. Jumping – Philip Koester, Boujmaa and Ricardo. Wave riding Camille and Levi for sure. In light wind Thomas Traversa is amazing, he is always great in any weird conditions as well as when it is sick. He is amazing in side off but more impressive is when it is sketchy and he still rips.
JC: Beer, wine or champagne?
AM: I think champagne (laughs), nah beer!
JC: You like beer?
AM: I don’t like to drink very much, I prefer water!
JC: If you won twenty million euro in the lottery what would you do with the money?
AM: Twenty million? Help the PWA to do a better tour? Maybe help the tour to have some better conditions. Keep the normal events such as the Canary Islands as they are a good variation but maybe have some events in Indonesia and Fiji! After that spend my money for what I like. If there were sick conditions anywhere in the world I could just fly in and out and score all the amazing forecasts. Imagine – I’m doing nothing and next week there is a hell forecast in Fiji. I could just go, ride the wave and come back home!
