AU REVOIR
After an amazing day in Brittany it was already 4pm, our cut off time to hit the road and head back to Caen in order to catch the 11pm ferry. The drive was relatively easy using the sat-nav on our phones and we easily covered the 500km journey and rolled in to Caen by 9.15pm. Fortunately our cheapskate seats were fine on the return crossing and we were the only two passengers in a whole cabin of reclining seats, which we opted to ignore and used our sleeping bags and pillows instead! The sea state was also calm which meant a much smoother crossing and we landed after a good night of sleep in Portsmouth at 6.15 am…perfect timing!
