CLEAN AND PERFECT
According to all the locals, today was going to be ‘the day’, with the wind forecast to swing slightly more offshore, the swell clean and pumping along with clear sunny weather. We met at Ile Aux Vaches early doors and we were not disappointed. According to Traversa the spot was offering premium conditions with the perfect wind angle and butter smooth waves. Traversa was fired up for this morning session, hitting the water first while we trekked back out onto the small rocky outcrop for the best shooting angle. Today was a totally different story, the point looked amazing from the car park with peeling pluming waves wrapping down the island, while one more bay upwind a peeling turquoise right hander provided perfect waves for a few local surfers. Traversa was on fire out on the water and hit some huge aerials, goiters and takas, smacking over mast high waves as if they were a head high beach break. By midday and nearly three hours of straight sailing, Traversa and crew had clocked up countless waves under their belts, but the wind had begun to swing too offshore and it was time to call it a day.
