SUPER SESSION
After the first hour or so we were joined by Blacky’s mate, plus a whole bunch of hardy punters including Jan Sleigh who had sailed over from the Daymer side. Fair play to these guys, as far as I was concerned the conditions were off the hook and with the wind chill factor, conditions were was as hard-core as they get. I must admit I had not really expected a single sailor to be out on the water dealing with the wrath of this severe weather in late January but there was a bit of a session going down and the boys seemed to be revelling in the extremities. By late afternoon, having endured nearly four hours of freezing cold, hail, sleet and almost frost bitten hands, Blacky dragged his rig up the beach signalling his session was finally over. All that was left now was a 1 mile trek back up the hill past a smelly cabbage field straight into a 40 knot headwind; yippee!
