MARCILIO BROWNE
This day was super special, not only big and clean, but the swell / wind angle were also perfect! I have seen it many times days that big and windy, but for some reason in this session the waves were the cleanest I can remember, with long, steep, open sections on the wave. The sets had a large period and each bottom turn felt like snowboarding, not a bit of chop out of place. The wind was strong, good enough to move around and stay upwind, but not out of control once riding the wave, it was unreal. The strange thing was that I wasn’t even planning to go sailing that day as I had been burning up all night long with a very high fever and I was set on resting up to feel better for the week ahead. As the day went buy I felt worse and I went for a drive to the local supermarket to buy some medicine, but I stopped by Lanes on my way there to watch and couldn’t believe how good it looked. I really didn’t want to miss those kind of conditions so I committed to going out for 1 hour and catching a couple of waves. I didn’t sail as long as I wanted but I was stoked to at least be able to experience some of those amazing waves that day.
