We hit the road and made the relatively short two hour journey back to Timo’s parents house to check the forecasts and the logistical nightmare of wind, waves, cloud cover, ferry times, time and sleep potential – literally in that order. The decision was made to head straight to Belfast for the 11.30pm ferry. I think Timo’s parent’s hospitality is what saved me and pepped me up to embark on my most ridiculous Road Trip to-date. With Anne Mullen’s freshly-made Shepherds’ Pie and not being allowed to lift a finger, it was literally just what I needed. I was even able to have a quick hour snooze after dinner. It was also funny to see Timo’s room kept exactly as it was 20 years ago – I really didn’t know he was that into WHAM!Making it to the Stena line ferry on time we again booked a cabin in the hope of another three hours sacred slumber. By this time the feeling of excitement was fully back. Prior to this Four Nations sojourn, I had never been to Northern Ireland, nor had I sailed either of the epic spots sailed earlier that day. The most exciting part was that I had never been to Lewis and its famous reef breaks. Little did I know how blown-away I was going to be!”
