And then things get interesting. Bernd sails like a man possessed, hitting the lip hyper-late, air dropping into the pit and carving right up the face with reckless abandon. His time here has been well spent. He’s definitely acclimatized. The wave warps and wraps and soon he’s being devoured by mast-high whitewater. (Broken boom, broken mast, shredded sail.) On land Brawzinho is the most humble, laid-back guy in the world. But on the water he’s simply a beast, absolutely charging, sailing with power and ease, eviscerating every wave.
