Ben: Yep I can still remember the first time I started sailing at Rhossy as a young kid. At the time I knew nothing of the place but from the first time I sailed there I loved it. Really easy launch, perfect ramps for jumps, shop on the beach which always had the kettle on and loads of cool people and just great atmosphere.
Bucky had taken over the shop the year before and a French guy called Alex Tritten was working for him. It was awesome. There was such a good group or us back then; to name a few, Alex, Greg, Mark the teacher, James, Steve, Pete and to be fair they are mostly still around today. Those days really shaped me into the sailor I am today. Every time I am back home, I head straight there on the first forecast as it’s such a fun place to sail. It’s just like a skate park for windsurfing as there are always ramps around for jumping. You also have flat water up the top of the bay and more waves down the bottom. It works in so many different directions its crazy and like I said before the atmosphere on the water is always good. With most people smiling and no agro! I still love it and its one of my favourite place to sail and to top it off the shop is right on the beach and everything else is within walking distance!
