SAT NAV: “IN THREE KILOMETRES TAKE THE INTERCHANGE ON THE LEFT, DON’T MISS IT!”
JC: How do you feel the women get treated on the world tour compared to the men?
SQ: JC you just turned off but you circled under the freeway totally wrong. Now we are going back up the freeway the wrong way! I think the women get treated fine on tour these days. I think before there was always this feeling that we were thrown out in the junky conditions but nowadays it does not feel like that. We seem to get our fair share of the decent conditions and are not just a warm up in the dire stuff before the men steal all the glory. In all disciplines it seems pretty fair how the women are treated. With the scoring sometimes in wave sailing some moves are either under or over scored.
SAT NAV: “IN THREE MINUTES TAKE THE EXIT AND GO BACK THE WAY I JUST TOLD YOU.”
JC: What is your favourite location you have travelled to?
SQ: I did like WA but this journey is clouding my enjoyment! Actually Egypt was one of my favourite places to windsurf. I went to visit Laura Treboux there a few years ago and I really liked it there. It was one big spot with lots of different conditions. There was a flat water spot, waves to jump off further out and a lagoon on the inside. We did a really cool trip to the ‘Blue Lagoon’ where we went on a boat for about an hour. We were in the middle of nowhere windsurfing on our own. I love sailing in Aruba and Bonaire as well, but that was something different and a special trip I think.
