Windsurfing’s definitive icon has undeniably given windsurfing its identity. After winning his first world title in ‘76 – aged just 13 – Robby Naish’s stature and image were the perfect vehicle to carry the surfing lifestyle to the shores of inland waters as windsurfing’s 80s boom gained momentum. Since then, through thick and thin, Naish has been the perfect ambassador for our sport. Earlier this year, to mark his 50th birthday milestone, John Carter quizzed the grand master on staying young, juggling business and family responsibilities, big surf and sailing Pipe, being competitive post-retirement and, of course, cars!
