ROSS WILLIAMS
I had heard only whispers of Lewis from hard-core sailors over the years. Left-hand reefs reeling perfectly down empty line-ups. It all sounded too good to miss out on. My Gaastra/Tabou teammate Jamie Hancock had contacted me with a report of a decent low pressure set to hit the Hebrides, but it was still 5 to 7 days out and the forecasts were changing from hour-to-hour.
Within a couple of days every click of the mouse seemed to make the forecast improve, insisting us to take a gamble and check it out.4 weeks earlier I’d fractured my Talus (ankle bone) during my second ever kitesurfing experience and I hadn’t yet been sailing. As the hours and days continued to count down I found myself in quite the dilemma.
