SAUSAGE CHAOS IN FUERTEVENTURA: DAY 2 HIGHLIGHTS

The introduction of the jump sausage (obstacle) made for some chaotic moments on the second day of the PWA Fuerteventura slalom! Check out all the crazy action in the official PWA highlight video!!!

With gusts exceeding 40 knots and the Slalom X jump making its debut, Day 2 pushed the world’s best racers to their limits once again. Crashes, broken equipment and costly mistakes became part of the story as the famous Fuerteventura racecourse continued to reward commitment and punish hesitation. Jenna Gibson remains the woman to catch after another strong day on the water, but reigning Foil Slalom World Champion Justine Lemeteyer has fought her way back into contention after recovering from a broken mast to claim two crucial elimination victories.

Behind them, the battle for the podium couldn’t be much closer, with Bobbi-Lynn de Jong, Mae Davico and Femke van der Veen locked together in third. In the men’s fleet, Matteo Iachino continued his superb form to remain at the top of the rankings, but reigning World Champion Pierre Mortefon hit back when it mattered most to close the gap and ensure the title race is very much alive heading into Day 3.

With the forecast showing no sign of easing, the stage is set for another huge day of racing on Day 3. Tune in from 11:30am at pwaworldtour.com
